Who is eligible?
- Must have arrived in the U.S. before turning 16
- Continuously lived in the U.S. since June 15, 2007
- Been under the age of 31 as of June 15, 2012
- Are currently enrolled in school, have graduated high school, have obtained a (GED) certificate, or are an honorably discharged veteran of the United States
- Had no lawful immigration status
What is it?
- Individuals who came to the United States as children and meet several guidelines may request consideration of deferred action for a period of 2 years
- Eligible to request work permit
- Does not provide lawful status
Why?
- To provide undocumented residents a path to citizenship and temporary residency.
